We are well into the 2008 election cycle and we need your assistance. You have always answered the call when things were tough and we are depending on you again. There is a lot at stake this year.

Two years ago Republicans allowed the Democrats and the liberal media to demoralize voters. The result? Republicans stayed home and Democrats celebrated. Folks, they are trying to do that again. We do not believe that Associated Republicans of Texas members will sit back and allow that to happen. Together we have provided funding and countless hours to achieve a Republican majority in the Texas Legislature. Are we going to allow liberals to undo all we have worked for?

After candidate interviews and research, A.R.T. has targeted the most winnable legislative districts. Some of these candidates, running against Democrat incumbents, will not receive funding from other groups. We must assist these candidates. We cannot get the numbers we need before redistricting without those seats! As naïve as Mr. Obama is, he understands the importance of redistricting. He stated that he intends to pour money into Texas in order to elect Democrats to the Legislature before redistricting.

Friends, we need your help. Think long and hard about what is at stake in November. From state and national security to illegal immigration, it does, indeed, make a difference who wins. None of us can afford to lose. If the Democrats control the White House and Congress, hold onto your wallet. Higher taxes are inevitable, continued reliance on foreign oil a given, and, it will be full speed ahead for government-controlled health care. I don't think any of us want Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid controlling our lives and our bank accounts.
